I’m working on dissecting autophagy pathway in maize, aiming to understand how it is regulated and what compensatory pathway will be activated when autophagy is impaired. Outside of lab I enjoy cooking (although with a risk of burning my kitchen), doing Chinese calligraphy and reading novels.

I’m studying how a certain protein may be involved in endosomal trafficking in flowering plants. We suspect that it may be responsible for increasing the complexity of vesicle networks within recycling bodies. Outside of research, I enjoy running in the beautiful Madison arboretum, playing video games, and board game nights with friends (in person when possible).
